Noureddin Zarrinkelk
I hold a doctorate degree in pharmacology from Tehran University. After completing my doctorate I studied animation and film at the Royal Academy Of Fine Arts in Belgium under Raoul Servais from 1969 till 1972. While at school in Antwerp I joined the International Animated Film Association (AISFA) and established the Iranian chapter. When I returned to Iran I founded the animation department at the Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (Kanoon) in collaboration with the late father of Iranian graphics Morteza Momayez and other fellow artists like Farshid Mesghali, Ali Akbar Sadeghi and Arapik Baghdasarian, among others. Later that school would merge with the prestigious College of Fine Arts of Tehran University. In 2003 I was elected President of ASIFA and served in that position until 2006. In my retirement I continue to teach as a visiting professor at the University of California Irvine School of Humanities.
